The first of many.
Last weekend was the first Flower Show I have sold Sixth Hour products at. It’s safe to say, I will definitely be interested in going to some more over the summer months. This particluar one was at Portishead in Bristol. It normally attracts around 5,000-10,000 people every year over the 2 day event. So I thought it would be a good oppertunity to give my products the publicity they deserve.
I set up an outside stall with the intention to sell our planters, shelves, wheelbarrows, birdhouses and windmills, as well as a couple of other items I thought would be good for display over the course of the weekend. I teamed up with Garden Crafts in Bristol and put some of their smaller animals and buddhas made from stone on display as well.
The weather forecast didn’t look al too great but luckily on the Saturday the rain managed to stay away which ensured a very healthy turn out. It was great to see my products getting so much attention and the comments that were made about them were really positive. These comment given me the motivation to try and sell at other flower shows in the future.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t all too great on the Sunday, but we still managed to raise some awareness of the Sixth Hour brand to the limited number of people that braved the weather.
All in all it was a really good weekend for this small business. I am looking forward to seeing all the pictures from our customers once they have put our garden creations to good use.
Thanks to all the staff at the Portishead Flower Show and Country Fair for putting on an excellent event and Paul From Garden Crafts Oriental Stoneware in Bristol for the joint venture.
